The Electrical Engineer – Sourcing will support sourcing and procurement of electrical components, panels, and systems used in Aquarius products such as concrete pumps, batching plants, and related equipment. The role involves vendor development, technical evaluation, cost optimization, and coordination with quality and design teams to ensure reliable supply and cost-effective procurement aligned with production and engineering requirements.
Sourcing
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for electrical components such as motors, sensors, PLC panels, cables, switchgear, relays, drives, and instrumentation.
Develop alternate vendors to reduce dependency and improve supply continuity.
Technical Evaluation
Coordinate with Design and Quality teams to finalize technical specifications, drawings, and quality plans.
Perform techno-commercial evaluations and comparisons of supplier offers.
Cost Optimization
Analyze quotations and benchmark prices.
Participate in cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
Vendor Management
Maintain supplier performance records related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
Coordinate and support supplier audits and evaluations.
Documentation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and documentation requirements.
Maintain supplier technical data sheets and update vendor master records in the ERP system.
Market Intelligence
Track trends in electrical component technology, pricing, and availability.
Recommend suitable substitutions, improvements, or alternative solutions.
ERP & Data Management
Create and maintain purchase orders, vendor records, and cost databases in the ERP system.
Education
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Experience
5+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement of electrical components in a manufacturing environment.
Preferably from capital goods, heavy engineering, or construction equipment industries.
Strong knowledge of electrical components, PLCs, control panels, drives, and instrumentation.
Hands-on experience in vendor development, negotiation, and cost analysis.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOMs.
Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Good analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with supply chain management terms and conditions.
