Regal Rexnord’s IT team is looking for an experienced SAP Variant Configuration (VC) Product Lead to play a pivotal role in driving our global enterprise application strategy. This senior position is best suited for a professional with deep technical expertise in SAP VC architecture, solution design, and system integration.
As the technical authority for SAP VC, you will lead the design, development, and governance of advanced VC models that power configurable product offerings worldwide. Beyond hands-on technical execution, you will review models, set configuration standards, mentor junior team members, and collaborate across engineering, IT, and product teams to ensure scalable, high-performance solutions.
VC Model Leadership & Development
Lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced SAP VC models.
Drive initiatives that improve scalability, performance, and reusability of VC models.
Review and provide expert feedback on VC models developed by team members.
Develop Variant Functions, Super BOMs, Super Routings, and advanced Dependency Nets.
Integration & Architecture
Ensure seamless integration of VC with SD, MM, PP, and other SAP modules.
Design and support IDOC-based interfaces, RFCs, BAPI wrappers, and web service integrations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align VC models with business requirements and digital transformation goals.
Evaluate and implement emerging SAP VC innovations and best practices.
Governance & Strategy
Define and enforce VC modeling standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
Create documentation, blueprints, and guidelines for configuration strategy and integration.
Provide technical direction for end-to-end product configuration initiatives.
Mentorship & Leadership
Mentor and guide junior VC developers and technologists.
Support knowledge transfer and training initiatives across the enterprise IT team.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
5–7 years of hands-on SAP VC model building experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
Experience with 2+ full lifecycle SAP R/3 or S/4HANA implementations.
Strong expertise in SAP ECC 6.0 VC, with thorough understanding of:
Classes, Characteristics, Configuration Profiles
Variant Pricing, Functions, Dependency Nets, and Constraints
Super BOMs, Routes, and Work Centers
Preconditions, Selection Conditions, Procedures
ALE, Tables, and BOM Class Nodes
Solid ABAP experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments.
Proven integration experience with SAP and non-SAP applications.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with openness to learning AI-driven workflows.
Demonstrated ability to lead development initiatives and influence stakeholders.
Experience in mentoring and supervising junior professionals.
Strong analytical, architectural, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across global teams.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple high-impact projects.
Experience with SAP IPC or AVC (certification a plus).
Familiarity with SAP Product Configuration Lifecycle Management (PCLM).
Exposure to Salesforce (Sales Cloud/CPQ) or Logik.ai tools.
Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
