Technical Architect – Software Development

Emerson is looking for a passionate and hands-on Technical Architect with strong experience in designing and delivering modern, scalable web applications and cloud-native systems. The role involves leading architecture and design for microservices-based applications using NodeJS and C# .NET Core, working closely with cross-functional teams in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment. You will contribute to strategic digitization initiatives using cloud, AI/ML, and modern DevOps practices while collaborating with global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design

  • Design robust, scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architectures (compute, storage, scaling, security).

  • Translate business and technical requirements into cloud-based solutions covering application development, data management, and IAM integration.

  • Lead the modernization of existing workloads using cloud-native architectures.

  • Integrate new applications into the cloud ecosystem.

  • Define and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards.

  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and development standards.

Cloud Operations & Optimization

  • Monitor cloud performance, availability, and resource usage.

  • Troubleshoot issues and forecast capacity needs.

  • Analyze cloud costs and implement optimization strategies for cost efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and participate in architecture and design reviews.

  • Mentor team members and promote best practices in software development.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision when required.

  • Collaborate with IT security teams to enforce privacy, policies, and safeguards.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

  • Work closely with Product Owners, UX designers, and QA teams to align technical solutions with business goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. / B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics.

  • 7–9 years of total experience, including 2–3 years as a Technical Architect.

  • Experience leading architecture and design for at least one cloud-native project on Microsoft Azure.

  • Hands-on experience with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Strong experience in designing microservices-based architectures including:

    • N-tier SOA

    • Saga, CQRS

    • Event-driven communication

    • Message brokers and service buses

  • Strong understanding of architectural styles and design patterns.

  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and executive stakeholders.

Technical Skills:

Backend

  • C# .NET Core, NodeJS, NestJS

  • RESTful Web APIs

  • Entity Framework, Dapper

Frontend (Preferred)

  • Angular, Angular Material

  • HTML5, TypeScript

  • Server-Sent Events, WebSockets

Databases

  • PostgreSQL

  • NoSQL databases

  • Data modeling and database design

Cloud & DevOps

  • Microsoft Azure

  • Docker, Kubernetes

  • Troubleshooting and performance profiling

Security & Quality

  • Application security and identity management (Okta, OAuth 2.0)

  • Static and dynamic code analysis tools (ReSharper, Blackduck, AquaSec, Coverity, SonarCloud)

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience with GenAI tools and GitHub Copilot

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments and manage risks

  • User-centric mindset with strong ownership and accountability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Collaborative and proactive approach to continuous improvement
